From the heights of Eurovision to a public scandal: Måns Zelmerlöw, the winner of Eurovision 2015, breaks his silence in the face of severe accusations from his ex-wife! All the details in the article.

The Swedish singer Måns Zelmerlöw, who won Eurovision 2015 with the song “Heroes“, is currently at the center of a spiraling storm and a turbulent personal story. Recently, Måns competed in Sweden’s Melodifestivalen with his new song “Revolution“, which garnered significant attention and was considered a favorite to win based on betting odds and predictions. Many expected him not only to win Melodifestivalen but also to lead Sweden to victory in Eurovision 2025. However, the result shocked everyone: Måns lost.

Now, not only has he lost the chance to return to Europe’s grand stage—he is also losing his marriage and facing serious allegations that are shaking social media and traditional media alike. The current controversy revolves around the highly publicized divorce between Måns and British actress Ciara Janson. On social media, Janson has begun revealing harsh claims against him, painting a grim picture of a shared life filled with addictions, infidelity, and violence.

Måns’ Response: “I Am Afraid for My Children”

In response to the wave of serious accusations, Måns Zelmerlöw released an official statement to the media, attempting to clarify his position and defend himself—primarily for the sake of his two young children.

“I reached out to the media asking them to stop covering this matter so that Ciara and I could handle our divorce privately. I do not want our two young children forcibly dragged into a social media reality show, newspapers, or television.

Unfortunately, this request was ignored. On the contrary—false claims that I abuse my wife and that my children are in danger have spread even further on social media by people who have no idea what is true or false.

In recent days, social media activity has also had real-world consequences. People who were never invited by me began showing up at my home, refusing to leave—filming with their phones, eager to post sensational content on their channels. It feels like a demonstration of power or intimidation—I don’t know.

I was forced to urgently gather my two children after receiving information that they were supposed to be taken to some kind of ‘safe shelter’—essentially disappearing from view. I cannot accept this.

False accusations and a storm fueled by irresponsible behavior on social media should not destroy their lives.

I am ready to face the consequences of actions I have indeed committed. We all have flaws; we all make mistakes. But standing silently while the stable lives of two young children risk being destroyed by outright lies amplified by an uninformed online mob—that I cannot do.

To anyone who thinks I am dangerous or violent toward Ciara or my children, I say this: I have never harmed even a single hair on their heads; I have never threatened or hit them—not my children nor my wife. This is the truth.

Now I appeal again—to both traditional media and people influencing through their social media platforms—please exercise discretion. I am truly afraid and deeply anxious for my children’s safety.”

Janson’s Post: “Endless Infidelity, Abuse, and Drugs”

Adding fuel to the fire was a post Ciara Janson published on her Instagram account. In her scathing post, the British actress made severe allegations against her ex-husband. She claimed their shared life involved: “drug addiction, emotional and physical abuse, and endless infidelity.” Janson stated that she chose to file for divorce in Britain in an attempt “to preserve both his privacy and mine,” but according to her—”privacy is no longer possible.”

“I stayed silent for far too long; protecting him was my choice,” she wrote. “I encourage anyone in a similar situation to seek help and support and find the strength to take control of their life. Everyone deserves freedom and happiness.”

She concluded her post with a tone oscillating between hope for a better future and subtle criticism:
“I wish Måns success in everything he tries, and I hope he gets the help he so desperately needs. As this chapter closes, I wish him nothing but a path toward a better future.”

Self-Censorship or External Pressures?

Following her explosive post, Janson’s original Instagram post was deleted—and replaced with a new one containing just one word: “Silenced.” The word immediately sparked waves of reactions and speculation—was it an attempt by someone to prevent her from continuing to speak out? Had she faced legal or personal pressures? For now, this question remains unanswered.

The storm surrounding Måns Zelmerlöw is far from over. Between posts and deletions, between statements and accusations—the reality of this former Eurovision winner is unraveling before the public’s eyes. The only question left now is: will he manage to save his name, his family—and himself?
