Eurovision 2026 betting now puts Finland first, with France and Denmark close behind. Israel sits seventh. That is the current state of the odds.

While exactly 50 days remain until Eurovision 2026 in Vienna, Austria begins, the betting landscape continues to shift as the contest draws closer. Several countries are strengthening their positions near the top of the odds, while others are recording sharp declines, creating a fast-changing picture ahead of Europe’s biggest music event.

Finland Maintains a Clear Lead

While Israel is ranked seventh, Finland continues to dominate the top of the betting tables. The duo Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen lead with the song Liekinheitin(in English: “Flamethrower”) and hold a 28% chance of winning. The Finnish entry, which blends dramatic pop with prominent violin playing, has built a clear advantage over the rest of the countries in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Despite Finland’s dominance, past results show that betting tables do not guarantee the final outcome. Last year, Sweden led at the same stage with 25% but finished only fourth. Croatia also led in March 2024 with 20%, yet ended up second. By contrast, Switzerland – which ultimately won Eurovision 2024 with The Code – was ranked only fourth at the time, with 9%.

Finland Strengthens Its Lead

Beyond Israel’s decline, Finland has further solidified its position at the top of the Eurovision 2026 odds. Following Saturday’s Finnish “UMK”, Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen were chosen to represent the country with their song “Liekinheitin”.

Finland currently holds a 20% chance of winning the contest, maintaining a strong lead over Greece, which sits in second place with 11% according to the latest betting analyses.

Movements in the Odds

Italy: the song Per sempre sì, to be performed by singer Sal Da Vinci, has recently climbed in the betting tables and rises to eighth place after ranking only 11th last week.

Czechia: representative Daniel Žižka and the song Crossroads dropped over the past week from eighth place to 12th. A significant fall for the haunting ballad.

Romania: the much-discussed song Choke Me“, which has been at the center of controversy, is actually rising in the betting tables in recent days. Romania has moved up four places and now sits 16th.

Croatia: another song at the center of controversy, Andromeda“, has also recorded a notable rise and climbed from 24th to 18th.

Armenia: the song “Paloma Rumba, one of the last entries to be revealed ahead of Eurovision 2026, has fallen sharply over the past week and now ranks only 20th, after bookmakers placed it 14th last week.

Switzerland: the Swiss entry has also slumped recently. Veronica Fusaro and the song Alice dropped over the past week from 17th place to 24th.

Georgia: the band Bzikbi, who won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2008, is not enjoying similar success in the “adult” Eurovision. Georgia has fallen within a few days from 19th place to 27th, and its chances of reaching the Grand Final with their somg “On Replay” are limited.

Azerbaijan: another sharp decline in this week’s betting tables is the Azerbaijani singer Jiva, who will perform the song Just Go“. Until a week ago, Azerbaijan stood in 21st place; it is now ranked 33rd.

The Significance of Early Betting Trends

It is important to emphasize that betting tables are based on public speculation and financial stakes placed by individuals who believe a specific country will win. At this point, the table serves as a map of expectations, much of which is based on historical performance rather than the current year’s musical content. These odds are expected to fluctuate thousands of times before May.

Historically, these trends offer a mixed bag of accuracy. Two years ago, Israel climbed to the top of the odds before its song was even released, eventually finishing fifth in the Grand Final. Conversely, Switzerland took the lead in April and went on to win. In 2022, Ukraine led the odds following the outbreak of war and maintained that momentum to victory. However, in 2021, Malta led for most of the season but ultimately finished seventh, while Italy surged during rehearsals to take the trophy.

Last year, the opening odds placed Israel in fourth. Despite various shifts that saw it drop to seventh in the betting closing prices, the entry actually achieved a remarkable second place finish. Because we are in such an early stage, these tables should be viewed with perspective, though they remain an essential tool for tracking momentum heading into the spring.

Eurovision 2026: The 70th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Austria, following the country’s third historic win with the song “Wasted Love” performed by JJ. This will be the third time the contest is hosted in Austria, after 1967 and 2015.
