Greece’s Eurovision 2026 representative, Akylas, held his Second rehearsal in Vienna with the song “Ferto”, and revealed a striking visual world and emotional turn during second run-through.

The Eurovision 2026 stage in Vienna has transformed into a vivid, digital-inspired visual space, and it was here that Akylas took the spotlight for Greece during his second rehearsal. Alongside a heavily stylized stage design filled with effects and a striking outfit choice, a surprising tonal shift emerged at one of the song’s climactic moments. The Greek delegation presents a dual approach here – a high-energy performance built on rhythm and momentum, while also attempting to connect with the audience on a more emotional level.

Greece’s Second Rehearsal: More Details

A short clip released from Akylas’s second rehearsal reveals parts of his performance during the first verse and the following chorus of “Ferto.” The LED screen behind the singer displays a video game-like sequence, featuring a character dressed in leopard-patterned clothing, mirroring Akylas’s own on-stage look. Within the game narrative, his character is seen walking through streets in Greece.

Akylas himself appears in a bold leopard-inspired outfit – a striking combination of orange and black with a fur-like texture that strongly emphasizes his stage presence.

A sudden emotional shift on stage

During the performance, a sharp tonal change occurs. Just before the anticipated direct confrontation with the Israeli entry, Akylas interrupts the high-energy flow, removes his modern accessories, and turns toward a more personal moment directed at his mother. This transition from a visually intense performance into an intimate emotional exposure creates a stark contrast that captures the attention of everyone in the arena.

The blend between an exaggerated, theatrical stage persona and a vulnerable human moment adds another layer to the performance, attempting to balance entertainment spectacle with personal storytelling. This combination could work in favor of the Greek delegation, which is aiming to leave a memorable impression during a highly competitive night in Vienna.

Will the chaotic and imaginative digital world of Akylas’s performance be enough for Greece to secure a place in the Grand Final in Vienna?

Eurovision 2026: This will be Greece’s 46th participation in Eurovision. Greece joined the competition in 1974 and achieved its best result in Eurovision 2005 when singer Helena Paparizou won first place with the song “My Number One”.
