With Canada’s first-ever Eurovision participation officially confirmed, the EuroMix editorial team shares its dream picks: Which Canadian artists would we love to see on the Eurovision stage?

The EuroMix editorial team is joining the excitement surrounding Canada’s historic debut at Eurovision 2027. With the country bringing North America to Eurovision, we sat down to think about our favorite Canadian artists and the songs we would love to see on the big stage as early as next May. From Justin Bieber and Tate McRae to Three Days Grace and a drag queen, these are the Canadian artists who get our 12 points.

Rachel Geron: Three Days Grace – “Never Too Late”

If Canada really wants to make an impact with its very first participation, I would send Three Days Grace without thinking twice. They are one of the most influential and successful alternative rock and post-grunge bands to come out of Canada, with a career spanning more than two decades, dozens of hits, and a reputation as one of the biggest rock bands in the world. Even today, more than 20 years after their breakthrough, they continue to break records and top rock charts. Over the past year, the band has even reunited with its original lead singer, Adam Gontier.

Out of all their songs, my choice would be “Never Too Late”. It is not only one of the band’s biggest and most recognizable hits, but also a song that combines power, emotion, and a chorus that is simply impossible to stop singing. Almost 20 years after its release, it is still considered one of the great rock songs of the 2000s, continues to rack up hundreds of millions of streams, and keeps reaching new generations of listeners.

Rock has proven time and again that it has an important place at Eurovision, and Three Days Grace could easily join the list of the contest’s most iconic rock performances. For me, this would be the perfect way for Canada to introduce itself on the world’s biggest stage – and perhaps remind all of Europe why great rock music always works.

Aviad Berger: Justin Bieber – “SPEED DEMON”

Canada joining the Eurovision Song Contest is a great opportunity to introduce European audiences to new and exciting music. There is no shortage of incredible names who could represent Canada, but I think the country could make a huge impact if it sends one of its biggest stars for its first participation – someone like Justin Bieber.

Justin is no longer the kid who sang “Baby”, and with such a diverse catalog of songs, he could bring the contest home on Canada’s very first attempt. Go for it, Justin!

Ella Berginsky: Tate McRae – “greedy”

I would choose Tate McRae to represent Canada at Eurovision 2027. McRae is a young Canadian singer, songwriter, and dancer who has become one of the world’s most successful pop stars in recent years. Her songs have accumulated hundreds of millions of streams, and she continues to release hits that achieve worldwide success.

The song I would choose to send is “greedy”, one of her biggest and most recognizable hits. The song deals with self-confidence and setting boundaries in a relationship, and I think it could be a perfect fit for the Eurovision stage.

I think she could go very far with this song. Beyond being a young artist who connects with younger audiences, she is also a strong vocalist, which I believe could impress the juries as well.

In addition, she is an excellent dancer, so I am sure she would deliver a powerful stage performance with impressive dance elements, potentially making Canada one of the standout countries in the competition.

Tal Dahan: Charlotte Cardin – “Feel Good”

While Tate McRae would be an incredible and exciting choice for Eurovision, the most natural choice to represent Canada on the Eurovision stage, in my opinion, is an artist like Charlotte Cardin.

Beyond being one of Canada’s most talented artists and one of the hottest names in the country’s music scene today, with a mesmerizing and powerful voice, Cardin brings an added value that lies at the heart of Canadian culture: bilingualism.

French and English are inseparable parts of the country’s identity, and Charlotte beautifully combines the two languages in her music – sometimes even within the same song. At a Eurovision Song Contest that celebrates local languages and authenticity, Charlotte Cardin could offer a sophisticated alternative and perhaps even bring the trophy to Canada sooner than expected.

Noy Yehoyada: Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj – “Beauty and a Beat”

Let’s put the cards on the table: Even if you are not a huge fan of his, it is difficult to argue with the fact that Justin Bieber is Canada’s most successful and talked-about pop export of all time.

The renewed success of “Beauty and a Beat”, his iconic collaboration with rap queen Nicki Minaj, which returned to the charts more than a decade later, proves that audiences are still hungry for more.

So why not ride this viral wave straight to the world’s biggest music competition? The votes are guaranteed.

Ofek Jerssi: Faouzia – “RIP Love”

I choose Faouzia to represent Canada at Eurovision. Faouzia could actually represent two countries, Morocco and Canada! She was born in Morocco but grew up and is active in Canada.

She creates excellent, world-class pop music that is perfectly suited to the Eurovision audience. Quite a few of her songs could work at Eurovision, but the two strongest options for me are “RIP Love” and “You Don’t Even Know Me”. Both could reach very high positions at Eurovision – if not win the entire contest!

Roie Ben Hoor: Katerine Duska – A Canadian Comeback

Most of us remember Katerine Duska as the artist who represented Greece at Eurovision 2019 with the song “Better Love”, but we should not forget that she is originally Canadian! Katerine brings a powerful, deep, and distinctive voice to the stage that is impossible to ignore. Looking back at her previous Eurovision appearance, we saw a polished and highly professional performance. The staging may not have been the most unique or groundbreaking of that year, but it served the song accurately and effectively.

Duska’s greatest advantage is that the qualities and rough texture of her voice could easily stand out among the many songs in the competition. She brings a fresh and contemporary musical style that has the potential to appeal both to the juries, who appreciate vocal quality and polished production, and to viewers at home. Beyond her talent, anyone who followed her backstage interviews discovered a charming, charismatic, and articulate personality – a major asset for any country hoping to generate positive buzz around its delegation. Who knows? With the right song and upgraded staging, she could still bring Eurovision to Canada.

Katerine’s voice is reminiscent of the styles associated with major artists such as Florence and the Machine and Amy Winehouse. Therefore, to successfully represent Canada, I would recommend that she stay away from “plastic” pop songs or outdated Eurovision ballads.

The perfect direction for her would be indie pop or a soul-pop anthem with a modern electronic beat. We imagine a song that begins with a quiet, mysterious atmosphere and develops into a dramatic chorus that allows her powerful voice to explode on stage. As for the staging, something far more minimalist, dramatic, and artistic would put her presence at the center of the stage and allow her voice to do most of the work.

Maor Heumann: Unleash the Archers – “Northwest Passage”

Canada’s arrival at Eurovision calls for a strong artistic statement, and Unleash the Archers are the perfect choice for the job.

In recent years, the competition has proven that metal and heavy rock are not merely a gimmick, but a winning formula for major success and attracting new audiences: from Finland’s impressive achievement in 2021, through Croatia’s historic second place in 2024, to Romania’s notable success in 2026.

The Canadian band has everything it takes to recreate that success: a lead singer with phenomenal vocal abilities, captivating stage energy, and incredibly accessible and catchy melodies that appeal to pop and metal fans alike.

A powerful performance of music combining Canadian roots with melodic epicness, such as their masterful cover of “Northwest Passage”, could guarantee Canada a spectacular Eurovision debut, immediately place the country near the top of the scoreboard, and perhaps even deliver a sensational victory on its very first attempt.

Talor Fishler: Jimbo – “Big Top”

Canada is joining Eurovision, how exciting! I believe it will not take long before we see the country’s first “troll entry”, one that brings the unique Canadian sense of humor, full of self-deprecation and satire.

I predict that within Canada’s first three years in the competition, we will get an unforgettable performance, and there is no one better suited to lead it than Jimbo.

Jimbo, who rose to fame on the first season of “Canada’s Drag Race” and went on to win the American “All Stars”, is first and foremost a comedic performer and a charismatic drag clown.

The song I chose for her, “Big Top”, is the embodiment of her madness: a colorful, theatrical, chaotic, and completely uninhibited circus show. She may not be a singer in the traditional sense, but she is exactly the kind of artist who could leave the audience stunned and turn the Eurovision stage into the most talked-about celebration in Europe.

Eitan Melamed: Tate McRae – “Siren sounds”

The singer I would like to see represent Canada is Tate McRae. Tate is a successful international Canadian singer and songwriter who rose to prominence thanks to her ability to combine modern pop, impressive dance skills, and outstanding stage presence.

At Eurovision, artists need to know how to command the stage and stand out, and Tate has all the qualities needed to do exactly that.

Her song “Siren sounds” would be a great choice for the competition, in my opinion. She could stand out with it, make Canada proud, and perhaps even bring the country its first victory.

Eurovision 2027: This will be Canada’s 1st participation in Eurovision. Canada joined the competition in 2027 and will appear for the first time next May in Bulgaria!
