The Swedish national broadcaster announced the hosts for the Swedish Eurovision final, Melodifestivalen 2025: Kristina “Keyyo” Petrushina and Edvin Törnblom.

Swedish national broadcaster SVT has announced that Kristina “Keyyo” Petrushina and Edvin Törnblom will host Melodifestivalen 2025, Sweden’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. Both are well-known comedians in Sweden and will be hosting the show for the first time.




Melodifestivalen 2025 Hosts Revealed

Petrushina, originally from Russia, gained popularity through her YouTube comedy sketches. She has since progressed to hosting podcasts and TV shows, including the talent show “Talang” and the entertainment program “Keyyo & Co”. Currently, she hosts the podcast “Frågar åt en kompis” (Asking for a Friend).

Törnblom has appeared in Swedish series and films and published an autobiographical book titled “Bögen är lös” (The Gay is Loose) in 2022.

Törnblom shared his enthusiasm: “Melodifestivalen is a huge privilege for me, and I intend to host the competition with great love. I love this contest almost more than anything else on earth, so I’ll take good care of it. I’m so looking forward to sharing this crazy journey with Keyyo, the artists, and all the fans of the competition.”




Melodifestivalen 2025 – What We Know So Far

This year, the Swedish national selection has attracted many artists, with reports of no fewer than 2,794 songs submitted for consideration. Thirty songs will compete in the contest, divided into five heats. In each heat, six songs will compete, with the top two songs advancing directly to the final. The songs ranked third will move to the Second Chance round, from which two more songs will be chosen. The Melodifestivalen final will feature 12 songs in total. The winner will be determined by a combination of international jury votes (50%) and public votes (50%). The heats will be held in different locations across Sweden over several weeks, as follows:

  • First Heat: February 1, Coop Norrbotten Arena, Luleå
  • Second Heat: February 8, Scandinavium, Gothenburg
  • Third Heat: February 15, ABB Arena, Västerås
  • Fourth Heat: February 22, Malmö Arena, Malmö
  • Fifth Heat and Second Chance Round: March 1, Husqvarna Garden, Jönköping
  • Grand Final: March 8, Friends Arena, Stockholm

In addition, while more and more names of potential contestants are emerging, including Eurovision 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlöw, and Sweden’s Eurovision representatives in 2016 and 2019 (respectively) Frans Jeppsson Wall and John Lundvik, it has been announced that ticket sales for the Swedish Eurovision selection will open on November 6.




Sweden in Eurovision 2024

“Unforgettable” is the name of the song performed by the duo Marcus & Martinus in the grand final of Eurovision 2024. The duo was chosen to represent Sweden at Eurovision after winning the Swedish pre-selection, Melodifestivalen. Sweden finished ninth in the final with 174 points.

Eurovision 2025: This will be Sweden’s 63rd participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. Sweden joined the competition in 1958 and has won it seven times over the years. Sweden’s most recent victory was at Eurovision 2023 with the song “Tattoo,” performed by the singer Loreen.
