“Kiss Kiss Goodbye,” is the song to be performed by ADONXS, who will represent the Czechia at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland in the second part of the second semi-final of Eurovision 2025 to be held on May 15 in Basel, Switzerland.
The song was written by the singer himself along with Michaela Charvátová, who co-wrote “Flood” for singer Maella in the Czech national selection ESCZ 2023, and Adriano Lopes da Silva, for whom this is his first Eurovision song. The song is performed in English. Listen to the song:
“Kiss Kiss Goodbye” describes the complexity and pain of ending a relationship, with moments of love and despair. The title decisively portrays the breakup as an emotional event, and the song itself expands on this experience, dealing with the difficulty of parting, hiding and revealing feelings that arise from the separation, and the speaker’s struggle with the aftermath.
The speaker emphasizes that for him, the loved one from whom he has parted appears pure and holy. It’s evident that although the breakup wasn’t initiated by the speaker, he understands the logic behind it despite his sorrow, but also his inability to come to terms with it peacefully. The chorus expresses emotional detachment and repetitiveness in attempts to part, with references to excuses and indifference.
The music video also emphasizes the speaker’s difficulty in parting with the past. At the beginning, the singer appears as part of a press conference that ended with him singing the chorus. The clip moves between the present and the past, with the singer appearing to live in an intertemporal reality, a kind of mental time machine. The dancebreak” part of the song is also presented in the video with a dance segment that will probably be preserved some form for the stage performance. At the end of the video, Adonxs undergoes a quick journey through time that takes him back to his childhood: a child, who apparently represents the speaker of the song, stands on the doorstep and watches his father by the car, as they are about to say goodbye.
During the first semi-final of Malta’s national selection MESC 2025, ADONXS revealed an acoustic version of “Kiss Kiss Goodbye”. Currently, the Czech Republic ranks 8th in the betting odds for Eurovision 2025.
This year, Czechia chose its Eurovision representative through an internal selection, unlike previous years when they used a national final. The internal selection involved votes from Czech demoscopic jurors (a sample group representing Czech public opinion), international jurors, and a Czech professional panel. The national broadcaster did not disclose the percentage influence of each group on the results.
The registration for the Czech selection process was open to Czech singers only. Songwriters from around the world who hadn’t found a Czech performer for their song could also submit entries for the competition. The Czech national final may have been canceled due to the national broadcaster’s dissatisfaction with the 2024 Eurovision result of singer Aiko, who was chosen through the national final and placed 11th in the semi-final with 38 points, failing to qualify for the grand final. The registration window for the selection process closed on September 30th. About two months later, on December 11th, ADONXS was announced as the Czech representative for Eurovision 2025.
Who is ADONXS?
Adam Pavlovčin, or by his stage name ADONXS, is a 29-year-old singer who rose to fame in 2021 when he won the reality show “SuperStar Czech-Slovakia”. He released his debut album, “Age Of Adonxs”, in 2022. In 2022, he won the “Singer of the Year” and “Discovery of the Year” titles at the Evropa 2 radio awards. Among his biggest hits are the songs “Moving On” and “Game“. ADONXS typically performs his songs in English.
ADONXS shares that he has dreamed of representing Czechia at Eurovision since he was a little boy and that he feels the weight of responsibility on his shoulders to represent a country with a rich history in the competition. The singer currently resides in Prague, the capital of Czechia.

Eurovision 2025: This will be the 13th participation of Czechia in Eurovision. Czechia joined the competition in 2007 and achieved its best result in Eurovision 2018 when singer Mikoláš Josef reached sixth place with the song “Lie To Me”.
