What to Expect from the Montesong 2025
Fifteen songs will compete in “Montesong 2025”, to be held on December 21st, 2025. The winner will be determined by a 50/50 split between jury votes and public televoting.
Unlike last year, when entries were required to include at least 51% of lyrics in Montenegrin, this year’s competition imposes no language restrictions.
The contest will take place in Podgorica, Montenegro’s capital, and promises to deliver a spectacular and emotional live show. The winner will be announced live at the end of the event following the combined vote results.
The festival is organized jointly by the national broadcaster RTCG and the local Artists’ Association, aiming both to promote Montenegrin talent and reduce financial strain on the broadcaster, with a significant portion of production costs covered by the association.
Montenegro returned to the Eurovision Song Contest last year after a two-year hiatus. Their 2025 entry, “Dobrodošli” performed by Nina Žižić, failed to qualify for the grand final, finishing 16th in its semi-final.
This year, Montenegro hopes for a stronger result and a long-awaited spot in the Eurovision 2026 grand final in Vienna.
