Tonight at 18:30 CET, the Estonian national broadcaster, ERR, will hold the final of “Eesti Laul 2026” – at the end of which the Estonian entry for Eurovision 2026, to be held in Vienna, Austria, will be selected. Twelve competing acts will take the stage in this evening’s final, which will be held at the “Unibet Arena” (formerly: “Saku Suurhall”) in Tallinn, the same venue that hosted Eurovision 2002. The show will be hosted by Karl-Erik Taukar and Karl Kivastik, better known by his stage name Korea and as a member of the band 5Miinust, who represented Estonia at Eurovision 2024.
The voting system in “Eesti Laul” will remain in place as in previous years, but with a new twist. In the first round of the final, all twelve songs will be performed, and the result will be determined by 50% jury voting and 50% public voting, with an international audience also allowed to vote for the first time. The top three entries from this round will advance to a “super final”, where the result will be decided by 100% public voting, again including the international audience. The song that finishes first in this final round of public voting will earn the right to represent Estonia in the coveted contest.
During the interval acts that will take place during the broadcast, a former representative who has already been to Vienna will perform tonight – Elina Born, who represented Estonia at Eurovision 2015 together with Stig Rasta, who is competing tonight in the national final. They performed the song “Goodbye to Yesterday” which finished in seventh place. Also performing during the event will be Nublu and Tief City 44, the band Singer Vinger, and the stars of the Estonian version of the musical “Romeo and Juliet” led by Jaagup Tuisk and Wanda-Helene Ollep.
Estonia will be the Eighth country to select a song for Eurovision 2026, following Albania, Montenegro, Moldova, Malta, Luxembourg, Ukraine and Cyprus, and the 12th country to select its representative, as Georgia, Switzerland, Israel and Bulgaria also join the list.
The final will begin at 18:30 and continue until 21:55 CET.
